Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

This policy explains information associated with the Houstonicity website at houstonicity.com and its email newsletter.

Millbury Media LLC owns and operates Houstonicity. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Millbury Media LLC.

How we use and share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing. We use information you submit for the purpose explained when we collect it, such as delivering the newsletter or responding to your message. Apart from the service-provider processing, legal disclosures, and business transfer described below, we will ask for your permission before using your information for a different purpose or sharing it with another business.

Subscribing to Houstonicity does not give us permission to share your contact information with vendors or unrelated marketers. If we offer an optional vendor-matching service in the future, the form will explain what information would be shared, the intended recipient or type of vendor, and the purpose before you submit. We will request your consent for that sharing separately from newsletter signup.

If Houstonicity changes ownership

If the Houstonicity newsletter and website are sold or otherwise transferred to a new owner, subscriber information and other records needed to operate Houstonicity may be transferred as part of that transaction. The transfer would be for continuing Houstonicity, and the new owner would be required to honor the privacy commitments that applied when the information was collected. A change of ownership does not grant permission to use your information for unrelated marketing or vendor referrals.

We will notify subscribers of a change of ownership through the newsletter or another appropriate notice. Before any material change to how previously collected information is used or shared, we will provide notice and obtain any consent required by law and our existing privacy commitments. You can unsubscribe or contact us with a request about your information.

Website visits

The website runs on WordPress and is hosted by HostGator. Hosting and website security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, and timestamps to deliver the site, diagnose problems, and protect it from misuse. Wordfence is installed for website security.

Email newsletter

When you subscribe on this website, we collect your email address to send Houstonicity Monday through Saturday. Elementor Submissions stores your signup on our WordPress website, along with the submission date, page, IP address, and browser information. We export the email addresses and manually add them to Beehiiv, our newsletter service. There is currently no automatic connection between the website form and Beehiiv, so your subscription may not start immediately.

Clicking Subscribe requests the newsletter. You can unsubscribe through the link in any newsletter, or contact us to withdraw a signup that is waiting to be transferred. The form uses an invisible honeypot field and Google reCAPTCHA v3 to help reduce automated spam. reCAPTCHA uses a necessary cookie for its risk analysis. Google processes information for this check under its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

When you subscribe, Beehiiv may process subscription information and newsletter engagement information on Houstonicity’s behalf, depending on our newsletter settings. Beehiiv’s own privacy policy describes its separate processing activities. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter. Read Beehiiv’s Privacy Policy for its practices.

Information you choose to send

If you contact Houstonicity, we may use the information you provide to respond, investigate a correction, or consider a story or event suggestion. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.

Cookies and third-party content

WordPress, hosting, and website services may use cookies or similar technologies for site functionality. If we add analytics, advertising, external media embeds, or additional tracking, we will update this policy to describe those services and any relevant choices before enabling them. Links to external sites are governed by those sites’ privacy policies.

Service providers and disclosures

Information necessary to operate the website or deliver the newsletter may be processed by the relevant hosting, security, and newsletter providers. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to address misuse and protect the website.

Retention and security

Website signup records are used as a temporary queue and removed from Elementor Submissions after transfer to Beehiiv. Exported files and backups may remain until they are deleted or expire under their retention settings.

Retention depends on the type of information and the services processing it. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information as needed for the purposes described here, subject to provider retention settings and applicable legal requirements.

Your choices

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter through the link in an email. For privacy questions or requests about your information, email contact@millburymedia.com.

Policy updates

We will update this page as the website’s data practices change. The updated date will appear above.
